Bison Meat is a protein rich meat that is also full of micronutrients that your body needs. Including vitamin B12, zinc, iron, selenium, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Bison Bowls

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of ground bison meat

  • ¼ cup of water (to add extra protein replace this with bone broth)

  • 4 tbsp of avocado oil

  • 1 bell pepper (chopped)

  • 1 sweet potato (chopped)

  • 1 red onion (chopped)

  • 1/2 lime, juiced

  • ½ tbsp of chili powder

  • ½ tbsp of smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp of cumin

  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. On a lined baking sheet, add sweet potato, ½ red onion, ½ bell pepper, 2 tbsp of avocado oil, salt and pepper and bake for 15 minutes.

  3. In a frying pan, add in 2 tbsp of avocado oil and heat on medium. Add in the bison meat and ground up with a spatula.

  4. Once the bison meat is browned add in the chili powder, smoked paprika and cumin and mix. Add ¼ cup of water, lower the heat to low, and cover the pan. Let this cook until the water is evaporated (8-10 minutes).

  5. In a bowl add a serving of bison, the roasted veggies and any other toppings you want. I love to make a quick mango pico de gallo or roasted potatoes!
